Assemblages made from found material, studio scraps, and shared remnants of their own creation. These are worked on intuitively and accumulate over time, are taken apart, absorbed into other pieces in the series or disassembled entirely, offering an alternative to object-based sculptural practice. They are accumulations of material but represent the action of their construction more than the product, and translate my improvisational practice into presence. As both collections of material and display modes for media or precious objects, they exist between sculpture and armature, and are becoming analogues to linguistic constructions. I hope to diminish the distance between making, thinking and material through familiarity as a kind of extended body technique.
